Animal Sacrifice in Sikhi?

Some so called Sikhs; sacrifice a goat in the name of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. They put the blood on their foreheads as tilaks. The meat is cooked and given out as Prasad; known as mahaprasad. This is done on special occasions; and is a very common practice in India. But it is totally Anti-Gurmat; Sikhi teaches kindness, compassion, humility, truth, righteousness and love. The slaughtering of animals is totally against Sikh principles. The so called Sikhs that do this are tapped in the head to sacrifice an animal in the name of the Guru. Why associate Sikhi and the Guru’s name with such cruel activities; it is so wrong to do so.

What logic and purpose lies in sacrificing an animal?

What is so religious and pure about it?

The goblins/barbarians that want to eat those carcasses of flesh just want to do so for taste and try and make it legitimate in their peanut sized brains by saying it is apart of Sikhi.

Gurmat:

Kabeer, they oppress living beings and kill them, and call it proper. When the Lord calls for their account, what will their condition be? Kabeer, it is tyranny to use force; the Lord shall call you to account. When your account is called for, your face and mouth shall be beaten. Kabeer, it is easy to render your account, if your heart is pure. In the True Court of the Lord, no one will seize you. –Ang 1375 - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Kabeer, to use force is tyranny, even if you call it legal. When your account is called for in the Court of the Lord, what will your condition be then? Kabeer, the dinner of beans and rice is excellent, if it is flavored with salt. Who would cut his throat, to have meat with his bread? -Ang 1374 - Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji
