Dancing

Dancing

Why do people dance?

· To have a good time

· To celebrate something

· Some people go dance classes as a form of exercise.

· Some people do belly dancing, exotic dancing for enticement (sexual purposes).

· In punjab people celebrate their harvest with bhangra.

· Women do gita at social events.

Historic Khalsa and dancing:

· When women and men took Amrit, they stopped dancing as they spent their time in devotional worship and fighting wars for justice.

· When the Khalsa wanted to have a good time or celebrate something they will go to the Gurdwara and get a patt done. They will also show their show by preparing beautiful langar for the sangat and the poor.

· The Khalsa did hard martial intense training so dancing for health benefits was irrelevant.

· Sikhi teaches modest and self dignity, so dancing for enticement is definitely out of the question. However when the mughals kidnapped or arrested Sikh women, they took their Dastar off and dressed them up with all types of jewellery and tried to get them to dance for their dirty desires.

· None of the Sikh Guru taught Sikhs any type of dancing. They taught us to read Gurbani, do seva and learn how to defend ourselves.

Singhis that had been captured by Mughals were Drugged and forefully dressed like the above picture. They tried to make them dance to satisfy their filthy desire.. But the women did not dance as they were daughters of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The women were the drugged again and raped.

Ladies Khalsa Camp 2006 – Belly Dancing – But thses days khalsa women take part in enticing dancing willingly.

Gurbani quotes and Sikh code of Conduct on Dancing:

Sikhi has no relevance to dancing; it is a Punjabi cultural thing. Because Sikhi is about getting to God and serving Humanity, therefore dancing has no relevance to dancing.

(If either by dancing or by shouting or by beating drums, the Lord may be obtained), then the peacocks dance, the frogs croak and the clouds always thunder. Ang 45 Dasam Granth – writing of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji

By dancing and jumping, devotional worship is not performed. Ang 159 SGGSJ

At weddings these days we have tunes with lustful lyrics, and some women have enticing clothes on and dance on the floor in front of strangers (like a clubbing environment) The worst thing is that her brother and father is there. Where is the honour in this?

Those who listen to dirty lyrics and lustful tunes with attention, listen Nand Lal Jee, they will be punished by the angel of death;

Rehatnama Bhai Nand Laal Jee

O my fascinating Lord, may I never listen to the faithless cynic, singing his songs and tunes, and chanting his useless words. Ang SGGSJ 820

When you dance as a couple, it can get pretty intimate. (Gridding dance style in clubs) Most of the time you will not even be married to the person you are dancing with.

Some are lovers of beautiful young women; emotional attachment to Maya is very dear to them. The unfortunate self-willed manmukhs remain asleep. O Nanak, those who intuitively serve their Guru, have perfect destiny. ANG SGGSJ 569

Without having Anand Karaj those who have sexual relationships. Listen O' Sikh the Guru states, he is not my Sikh.

Sofa Busters

We went from Saint- Soldiers to FAT-sofa breakers.

The Punjabi people have a tradition of great pride when it comes to physical well being. We fought many wars and were ranked as some of the bravest and fittest warriors. Even the British thought highly of their Sikh regiments. But in 2006, if you look around, you will see pop tummies and fat slobs amongst our community.

Reasons for obesity rise in out community:

  • Not enough activity, i.e. exercise, sports, walking (due to cars)
  • Diet. Most our food contains ghee (butter and oil, these have a lot of cholesterol and cause damage to the heart. We are eating too much junk; people don’t have the time to prepare a healthy meal. We are eating too much; more calories are consumed then used.

How this affects our community:

  • Quicker death rates
  • Less chance of fleeing from an attacker
  • Ruins image of saint- soldier
  • If we are unfit and can’t defend ourselves, how are we meant to stand up for an old lady on the street getting mugged by thugs? So we are unable to even help others, this is so anti-Sikh. A Sikh is supposed to be a sign of hope, not just stand there help-less because they can’t move their body.

We all need to sort this out, just because you are skinny doesn’t mean you are fit, try running for 10 minutes, let’s see if you last.

Solutions:

· Redesign our diet

· Start gatka, yoga or martial arts

· Buy a running machine, or join the gym

· Go for group walks in the park once a week

I know some people have fat causing diseases; this article isn’t aimed at them. It’s aimed at lazy Punjabis.

Singh & Kaur

Most of us have the name Singh’s and kaurs in our names, what do these mean?

Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji gave us the names which associated us with a Sikh Nation. Once some-one takes Amrit then they truly become a Singh and kaur. They then sign up to the khalsa army and their duty to defend the weak and poor starts officially in the eyes of Guru Ji.

Kaur means Princess:

  • A princess is a reflection of purity and innocence; they are women of good character and behavior.
  • They have self -respect, live in dignity and have good morals and principals.
  • They dress modestly and have no nasty habits such as drinking, smoking and eating meat.
  • They don’t go clubbing to look for sex. They don’t have abortions to cover up their misdeeds.
  • They are warrior princesses who are ready to defend themselves.
  • They do charity events and seva (self-less service)

ARE YOU LIVING AS A KAUR OR WHORE,

Singh means lion:

  • A Singh is a brave, courageous warrior, who fights for righteousness, humanity and stands up for the innocents, oppressed, the poor and the needy.
  • Never starts trouble, never bullies people
  • A Singh looks out for everyone’s rights and demands justice with out fear.
  • A Singh lives without fear of anyone-or anything
  • Singh’s make all types of sacrifices
  • Singh’s struggle until peace and humanity is restored.
  • A Singh has no hate and doesn’t pick on innocent people. (a lot of our boys go around paki-bashing, this is wrong)

ARE YOU LIVING AS A SINGH OR A WHIMP

Sikhi and miracles

Miracles & SIKHI

A lot of Sikhs nowadays doubt a lot of Sikh history because they think it was impossible for certain things to happen. A lot of people think Baba Deep Singh Ji did not fight while his head was chopped off. They also think Guru Gobind Singh Ji did not chop off the heads of the punj pairyea (even dough history says that Guru Ji pulled out his sword and asked for a head). If you doubt this then you are saying that Guru Ji deceived his Sikhs and are indirectly calling him a lair. Plus if you believe God cannot to miracles then you have not understood Sikhi. Below I have included some bani quotes which prove God can and does do miracles.
