Socks or Not?

Are Socks Allowed in darbar Sahib?

In India, at all Gurdwaras the Sikhs wash their hands and feet before entering the darbar. They do this to clean themselves in order to show respect to Guru Ji. If you washed your feet with your socks on they would be soaking. Also some socks stink, due to sweat and the insides of old footwear.

Yeah in India people used to mainly wear chupels in the olden days so their feet would be muddy or dusty. They had no choice; they had to wash their feet before entering the darbar. But no matter what socks aren't the cleanest item either. So yeah I am of the view that, we should take our socks off to show full respect to Guru Ji.
