Self Defense Laws are disgusting in the UK

The UK Self defense laws are disgusting contrasting to other countries. If a intruder breaks into your house and you don’t use reasonable force, you could be doing more time in jail then the intruder. What is reasonable force? an intruder is not going to come in empty handed, it’s a kill or killed be situation. The first thing that would come to my mind would be to take the person out for the safety of my kids, family and myself. If somebody in the UK done what the kid did in the below video, he would have been talking behind a jail cell.
