Socks or Not?

Are Socks Allowed in darbar Sahib?

In India, at all Gurdwaras the Sikhs wash their hands and feet before entering the darbar. They do this to clean themselves in order to show respect to Guru Ji. If you washed your feet with your socks on they would be soaking. Also some socks stink, due to sweat and the insides of old footwear.

Yeah in India people used to mainly wear chupels in the olden days so their feet would be muddy or dusty. They had no choice; they had to wash their feet before entering the darbar. But no matter what socks aren't the cleanest item either. So yeah I am of the view that, we should take our socks off to show full respect to Guru Ji.

Are you carrying a kirpan or just a piece of metal?

Sri Guru Hargobind Ji introduced weapons into the Sikh faith for protection. Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji made it a principle, that a Sikh must always be armed with a kirpan. The kirpan is used for self defense and protecting the oppressed. But most Sikhs these days carry a Kirpan which is so unpractical and ineffective that's its just a piece of metal.

I have seen many Sikhs carry Kirpans like the above, they are blunt, and the handle is too small. It's a joke really, just a piece of metal to me.

Most of the kirpans have the curve near the point; this makes it ineffective to stab. This curve designs are traditional horse back kirpans, and were used for slashing when on a horse in the battle field. The curve design is effective on horseback.

Above is the personal Kirpan of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Now that's what I call a Kirpan

Above is a weapon of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, See how effective this weapon would be in war. A kirpan should be practical and effective according to the situation.

Are you carrying a piece of metal or a kirpan?

Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale, is he Alive or Shaheed?

Some Sikhs believe that Sant Ji is Shaheed and fought until the end (fulfilling his ardass). Other Sikhs believe that Sant Ji had to listen to Panj Piare and escaped (Just like Guru Gobind Singh Ji had to during the battle of Chamkaur sahib). They are both valid statements in their own right, and do cause the mind to wonder. Sikhs, who were close to Sant Baba Thakur Singh Ji, a comrade of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji, say that Baba Thakur Singh Ji says Sant Ji is still alive. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji did say in one of his speeches that, what ever happens to me, after i am gone listen to the directions of Baba Thakur Singh Ji. But are we going to spend the rest of our lives to debate this, or are we going to learn from Sant Jarnail Singh Ji's life. Sant Jarnail Singh Ji told us that every Sikh has a duty to do parchaar (make sure Sikhi Flourishes) and defend Sikhi. Parchaar and resistance are the main lessons that we can learn from Sants Speeches.

All i have to say is:

How much parchaar are we doing?

Have you done your duty and resisted in any form the attacks made on Sikhi and humanity?

Tomorrow is not promised to nobody, do what you have to do for the panth today!

Sant Ji and his brothers in arms ready at all costs to RESIST!

Sant Ji doing Parchaar!

Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindranwale, who woke up a sleeping nation of sikhs and told them your turban is on the floor, we are slaves, something must be done to save the honour of our Turban!
