LONDON, UK (KP)—People in London are wonderstruck over a recent show of courage put up by a seventy year old Sikh. Harbhajan Singh was able to successfully fend off a robber, Deryk Traylen, who tried to loot the store where Singh was working.

Traylen, thirty five years old, entered the Cost Cutter store, locked the door and pointed a gun at the face of Harbhajan Singh’s son-in-law who was standing at the counter. Harbhajan Singh was quick to hit Traylen’s arm with an iron rod which successfully disarmed him. Traylen tried to retaliate with a knife however Harbhajan Singh attacked him on his head while the two held him on the floor to ensure he did not escape. Police were also called in the meantime.

After the incident, the police lauded Harbhajan Singh’s bravery and he was also awarded 300 pounds. Harbhajan Singh said that initially he was having second thoughts about hitting Traylen as he was holding the gun—but he knew the timing was right to disarm him. According to Singh, he was concerned about his son-in-law's life and had to take action.
